What to include
Describe the concern in your own words. Is the wall leaning, cracking, losing soil, showing water at its face, or simply in the way of a new plan? For new construction, say what the wall would retain and what you want the finished ground to do. Include approximate length and visible height if you already know them. You do not need to approach unstable ground to collect measurements.
Give the property location, your preferred contact details and any access restrictions. Gates, stairs, narrow passages, steep approaches and parking constraints can affect how work is planned. For commercial or multifamily work, identify the owner or manager authorized to discuss the scope.
Information that helps
Photos of the whole wall, the ground above and below it, visible outlets and the route to the work area can help. Take them from a safe position. Existing plans, surveys, permits, reports and a short account of earlier repairs are useful when available. The estimate checklist helps organize an inquiry.
What an inquiry does
An inquiry starts a discussion of the property and requested work. It does not confirm structural safety, establish a final price or authorize construction. The assessment, design, approvals, access arrangements and written scope depend on the project. Compare repair and replacement if you are unsure which service fits.
If material is falling or the ground is moving
Keep people and vehicles away from the affected area. Do not climb on the wall, dig behind it or try to hold it in place. Where there is an immediate threat to people, a public route or a building, contact the appropriate emergency or public authority. Sending a website inquiry is not an emergency response arrangement.
